Mackinaw Get-Away!

Don, Kate, Blake and I went on a mini-vacation last weekend. We visited our friends, Chris and Burt at Mackinaw City. We had a great time and the weather actually cooperated with us! We stayed in their guest house with a view of the bridge. Blake was very happy the whole time and seemed to have a good time too. Thanks Chris and Burt, you have a beautiful place!

Baby Blake Is Finally Here

Katie and Rory's baby, Blake Christopher Gutchak finally came into the world around 11 o'clock last night, weighing 6 lbs and 12 ounces! Both Mom and baby are doing fine. God is good!

This weekend is Pastor Joe's birthday! For those who don't know him, he is the Youth Pastor at our church. To be a Youth Pastor it takes a combination of maturity to provide leadership and guidance, and enough "kid" in you to be able to relate to teens. P.J. seems to have the perfect balance! Rare Photos

For those of you that do not know, CCN's maintenance men were both at one time Astronauts. Yep, that is right, before they retired (to be maintenance men) Don and Jim were astronauts and here are the pictures to prove it!

I got a new stove! My old one was basically a big two burner hotplate, the oven did not work and only two burners worked. My friend Carron has this stove and she loves it, and said it was worth the extra bucks and she was right. I love the fact that it has two ovens. I showed our Youth Pastor, Joe a picture of it and was amazed when he said, "Oh, that is a Maytag Gemeni isn't it?" Apparently his Dad owns a Maytag store, which gave him this insight. His Dad would be proud that he was able to identify it.

55!!??

Today is my birthday and I am proud to say I am 55. Now that I am this age, it does not seem as old as it did when I was young. ( I know that does not really make much sense). We went to Jason and Steph's last night for a delicious spaghetti dinner (She should post the recipe on her blog). Max and Michah got me a copy of one of my favorite movies, "The Secret of Roan Inish", which is filmed in Ireland. Don got me a beautiful cross necklace with amethyst and diamonds on it. It is beautiful. Thank you everyone, this has been a great birthday!

These two are the latest additon to the Camp David Border Collie Family. The one on the left is Spot and the other one is spotless. (See the brown spots around Spots eyes). They are almost 9 months old now and join the old guy, Kisses and Lady.
